It's cloud storage for the recordings your Tesla creates via Dashcam and Sentry Mode. You upload them to the app, play them back from every camera, and keep them safe even after wiping the SD card.

For each event it creates a folder (e.g. 2026-05-01_15-34-57) with a thumb.png thumbnail, an event.json file with the event details, and a series of roughly one-minute .mp4 clips for each camera.

Tesla records in roughly one-minute segments and separately for each camera. The app orders these segments by time and plays them back to back as one continuous video, so you don't have to click through dozens of files.

All six: front, rear, left and right pillar, and left and right repeater. For each recording you choose which view to watch.

Yes. Only your account can access them. Passwords are stored in a secure (hashed) form and we recommend serving the app over HTTPS. We don't share your data.

Yes. Tesla Cam Drive is designed as a cloud backup and archive for Tesla Dashcam and Sentry Mode event folders, so important clips are not lost when the car overwrites the USB drive.

Yes. Sentry Mode recordings use the same event-folder structure with camera MP4 files, a thumbnail and event metadata. Upload the whole folder so the app can keep the event complete.

Generic storage keeps files, but Tesla Cam Drive understands the Tesla recording structure. It keeps camera angles, one-minute segments, thumbnails and event metadata together for easier playback and review.
